Exciting News: Connecticut Joins the Nurse Licensure Compact – Here’s What It Means for You
Connecticut is officially making it easier for talented nurses to cross state lines. Starting October 1, 2025, the Constitution State will activate its membership in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Connecticut will be the 42nd jurisdiction to join this game changing multistate nursing license system.
What Is the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)?
The NLC offers registered nurses (RNs) one multistate license, eliminating the need for multiple state licenses while enabling seamless in person and telehealth practice across all member states.
Why This Matters for Travel Healthcare Professionals

- Streamlined licensing – Eliminates time consuming licensing steps, helping professionals get to work faster.
- Expands opportunity pool – Connecticut’s addition opens new assignment locations and strengthens regional coverage.
