Every year on September 15, we take a moment to recognize and honor the extraordinary dedication of neonatal nurses—healthcare professionals who provide specialized care to newborns, particularly those who are premature, critically ill, or facing complex medical challenges. On National Neonatal Nurse Day, we at Aequor celebrate the skill, compassion, and resilience of these nurses who give fragile lives the best possible start.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a specialized hospital unit designed to care for newborns who need extra medical attention. These infants may have been born prematurely, experienced complications during delivery, or have health conditions requiring advanced monitoring and treatment.
The NICU is equipped with highly specialized technology—such as incubators to regulate temperature, ventilators to assist breathing, and continuous monitoring systems—alongside a skilled medical team dedicated exclusively to caring for newborns.

Neonatal nurses work in NICUs, tending to infants who require round-the-clock monitoring and advanced medical care. Their work goes far beyond checking vital signs and administering treatments.
