Travel therapists, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists, are healthcare professionals who travel to different locations to provide therapy services on short-term contracts. Therapy (PT, OT, SLP)

• 1-2 years’ specialty experience with recent specialty experience in the last 12 months
• Active, unencumbered license or certification (depending on profession)
• Minimum of two professional supervisor references

Licensing depends on your profession but in general, most assignments require you to have a current, active license in the state for which you are applying. In some cases where state licensing is not required for your profession, current national certification must be active and in good standing. Many states participate in compact agreements that reduce regulatory barriers to interstate mobility and cross-state practice. Typically, 13 weeks but some may be shorter, longer or offer opportunities for extension.
