With over 11 years of experience in moderate to severe special education, Jasmine has built her career around supporting students with diverse and complex needs. She began working with children in her community as a tutor, paraprofessional, and caregiver, long before stepping into her own classroom. Proof that her calling to this field started early.
Jasmine spent the first 6.5 years of her career in non-public schools, helping students with severe behavioral and mental disorders find joy, stability, and a sense of normalcy in their school experience. She later transitioned into district settings for four years and now continues her work in a virtual environment, expanding her reach and impact even further.
Her journey was shaped during her time at Cal State Fullerton, where a mentor helped open her eyes to the profound difference special education teachers can make. Since then, Jasmine has worked with more than 100 students ranging from transitional kindergarten through age 22, building lasting relationships that extend far beyond the classroom. Many of her former students still stay in touch, a reflection of the care and connection she brings to her work.
At the core of Jasmine’s approach is a simple but powerful mission: every student deserves to feel loved, capable, and supported. She is deeply committed to creating a space where students are accepted for who they are and encouraged to reach their full potential, with someone always in their corner cheering them on.
